Hand & Wrist Injuries — San Diego

Comprehensive hand and wrist care in San Diego — carpal tunnel, fractures, tendon injuries, and repetitive-strain conditions.

Overview

A closer look

The hand and wrist perform some of the most complex work in the body, and small problems here have outsized effects on daily life and on your ability to work. Dr. Sidney H. Levine treats the full range of San Diego hand and wrist injuries — from carpal tunnel syndrome and repetitive-strain injuries common in office and industrial workers, to fractures and tendon injuries from falls, sports, and trauma. Every patient is personally examined, with on-site X-ray when indicated and a clear treatment plan the same visit.

What to expect

Your first visit

Hand and wrist visits include a focused history, examination for nerve and tendon function, and on-site X-ray when needed. Nerve testing (EMG/NCV) may be ordered for carpal or cubital tunnel questions. You'll leave with a clear diagnosis and a graded plan.

Recovery

What healing looks like

Recovery depends on the problem. Carpal tunnel release is typically outpatient with return to light activities within days and full activities within weeks. Wrist fractures are commonly casted for 4–6 weeks with hand therapy afterward; some require surgical fixation. Trigger finger release is a brief procedure with quick return to activity.
